MDIV APPLICATION

We are excited to explore with you the possibility of joining our next cohort of students. Our application process is designed to help us get to know each other better as we seek clarity concerning three main questions:

  1. What role does God have for you in his mission?
  2. Is Christ Our Redeemer Seminary part of God’s plan to equip you for this role?
  3. Is now the right time for you to begin your training with us?

We only accept 8-14 students per cohort. Each group of students makes up a single learning cohort committed to completing the 3-year program together. It is important to understand that you are applying for one of these slots with the desire to complete the program with the cohort.

To meet the basic admissions requirements, students must:

  • Have a sense of calling into vocational, bi-vocational, or non-vocational ministry leadership (i.e. pastor, church planter, missionary, ministry leader).
  • Be affirmed in your calling by your local church leadership.
  • Demonstrate growing biblical knowledge, Christlike character, and ministry competency.
  • Be in a reasonable state of health.
  • Commit to approximately 25-30 hours/week during the 8-week quarters (this includes class time, workshops, mentoring meetings, and assignments).  There will be additional mentoring and/or practicum assignments outside of the 8-week quarters and during the summers.
  • Commit to completing the whole 3-year program with fellow cohort members.
  • Have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution substantiated by the submission of an official transcript. In some cases, we may accept someone without a bachelor's degree who can demonstrate ability to complete graduate level studies.

The application process will remain open until the cohort is full or until the application deadline on May 31st, whichever comes first.

Steps to Apply:

1) Complete Application Form

In addition to general information, our application consists of a thorough assessment of one’s knowledge, experience, calling, and Christian maturity. The application may take up to 2 hours or more to complete.

In addition to our admissions team, we rely on your pastor(s) input for the evaluation process. This is because we believe that the local church bears the primary responsibility for identifying and equipping leaders. We encourage you to send your application to your local pastor and then meet to pray and seek the Lord’s wisdom together.

2) Ensure Recommendations are Submitted

In addition to your pastor(s) recommendation, we require 2 other recommendations from people who know you well, such as:

  • A peer/friend/teammate
  • Someone you have led, discipled, or mentored in some way

The recommendation form will be automatically emailed to the people you indicate. We recommend that you follow up with them to thank them for completing their recommendation.

3) Submit Official Academic Transcripts

You will need to submit official academic transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended and completed six or more credit hours. The academic institution will need to send this directly to admissions@christourredeemer.org or mail to:

4) Pay Application Fee

After submitting your application, you will be provided with payment link for the one-time application fee of $100. Use code MDIVEARLY for $50 discount until February 15, 2025.

5) Transfer Credits

Christ Our Redeemer Seminary may accept the transfer of credit from accredited schools at the discretion of the Academic Dean. Courses and credits must correlate closely with the courses we offer, including practicum and mentoring. You must provide an official transcript, course catalog, and a syllabus for each course you hope to transfer.

When a student can demonstrate prior learning in a particular subject area through a means other than coursework at an accredited school, he or she may be exempted from that course by the Academic Committee.

Transfer credits may be applied toward electives or core courses. Because we value the cohort as a learning community, in most cases where transfer credit is applied, we will still require students to audit our core courses and participate in class with the cohort.

Our Response

Once we have received your completed application, all 3 references, official transcripts, and your application fee, we will notify you of our evaluation within one month.
